I am in the process of writing a Young Adult Fantasy book, The Ruby City: The Trial of Heirs. It is my first book, and I hope to self-publish within the next couple of years. Below are some fun facts about the book:

• I came up with the story in high school and originally wrote it down onto the notes in my phone!

• I did world building first because I didn’t know how to write a book. I never actually started writing until my freshman year of college.

• While there will be plenty of romance, The Ruby City won’t contain smut.

• The seven children of the Queen were originally based on the seven grandchildren of my great-grandmother Lois Kahle, the true matron of my mother’s family!

• At first, the love interest had blonde hair and blue eyes like my husband, but that changed after I let my followers decide what he should look like!

I have been writing for a few years now, and I’ve loved every second of it. I am starting to provide encouraging and informative articles on this website for girls who are interested, or maybe just curious, in going into a STEM field. I hope to put my writing skills to use and encourage girls to take a step of faith into a challenging field and to not be intimidated by a male-dominated line of work!
